After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt Response:  I gained the perspective that my work followed a specific "theme". I then saw how all the images and background correlated with each other, as well as how every image, for the most part, was the same color and style. What I learned from the creative process of writing my poster was that once I have an idea or a clear vision of what I am going to do, I can execute it effortlessly. Summary: Today we reviewed our classmate's posters and gave them positive feedback in their comments. Reflection:  Today I learned about the artistic choices within my poster.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:   The thing that challenged me the most was creating an equal number of similes to metaphors. I found it challenging when I wanted to use a simile, but I needed to do another metaphor. Summary: Today we created our posters from our simile and metaphor worksheet. Reflection:  Today I learned that I have an artistic correlation to my words.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  During my time creating similes and metaphors, I learned that I remember a lot about my past. I remembered things that people have said, the good and the bad, as well as people and events within my life that have shaped my perspective and understanding. Summary: Today we created similes and metaphors that were personal to us. Reflection:  Today I learned that I remember a lot.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response:  The times that I truly enjoy the time I spend is when I make art. I enjoy carefully crafting images that are pulled from my imagination. I like watching a blank piece of paper come to life with and by my own doing. Summary:  Today we did a worksheet. Reflection:  Today I learned how much I appreciate what I create.

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  For my three objects, I would choose a letter, a playlist, and a jacket. I am someone who lives for self expression, and when I love someone, I only want to express how much I love them. I choose the letter for my first object because sometimes I don't know any other way of expression besides through my words. Verbally expressing my love can give people some understanding of how much I feel, but I also chose the jacket because I love physical mementos. I love having a piece of someone I love that I can just surround myself in, literally. I choose the playlist because to me, music is very important and has always been around me so sharing it would be like sharing a piece of one another with each other.  Summary: Today we wrote poems to our parents for Valentine's day. Reflection:  Today I learned how I like to write poems.

Now that you have completed the rhetorical analysis essay, reflect on your growth. Explain how this experience impacted your confidence as a writer and whether you feel prepared to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in American Literature. Support your reflection with specific references to the writing process.

Prompt Response:  With the help of identifying the rhetoric, annotating the text, and finding the overall effectiveness of the author, I have become more confident in finding the main objective of the writer, and in my own writing abilities. With a greater understanding and comprehension of this topic and writing style, I have been able to execute my knowledge properly in my own rhetorical essay. Summary: Today we wrote our rhetorical analysis on Obama's speech Reflection:  Today I learned what a confident writer I am.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Prompt Response:  Identifying the rhetorical device helped me understand everything the most. This essentially broke down what the author was saying through devices such as metaphor, simile, and analogies. This breakdown of the topics through use of rhetorical devices helped me to understand the overall point being made by the author/speaker. Summary: Today we learned about the steps to completing a rhetorical analysis. Reflection:  Today I learned the steps to the rhetorical analysis and how it helps the audience to understand.
